The objective of this course is to help students understand how and why atoms combine to form chemical bonds, and how these bonds determine the shape, stability, and properties of molecules. Students will learn the major bonding theories, predict molecular shapes using VSEPR theory, and relate molecular structure to physical and chemical behavior.
